(We're still without a cable for our camera... photobooth is the only way I can get photos of the kiddos! I had to be stealthy for this one cause Jonas has gotten a bit more camera-shy, hence you can see my hair hanging over the webcam in the photo above.)
Oh, Jonas Clayton.
There is so much to say about this boy (yes, he's a boy, there isn't really any trace of baby left in him!) He loves to sing (favorite songs include "In Christ Alone", songs from "Elmo's world" and "Yo Gabba Gabba", and lots of lots of made-up songs-- like his daddy, he can make up a song about ANYTHING.) He loves to dance (often, if a show he's watching has music, he'll say to us, "oh, I HAVE to dance!") He is the sweetest older "oppa"/big brother (he loves to give Penny kisses and tickle her and tells her "Oh Baby Penny, you're so cute".) He knows all of his letters and the sounds they make. He takes a wonderful 2+hour nap in the afternoon to give us much-needed breaks. He can recite all of the Lord's Prayer and is up to answering 6 questions of the Catechism. He notices when he says words incorrectly and CORRECTS himself (that is sad and cute all at the same time-- no more "Massessa" for Vanessa, "hepcotter" for helicopter, no more using the wrong pronouns.) He puts on and takes off his own shoes (when they don't have laces, like the rainboots above.)
He makes our days and hearts full. He makes me pull my hair out on some days and on other days, I want to cry because our little chubby baby has turned into a big, handsome boy who is kind and sweet. He makes us laugh ALL the time and also tests the boundaries ALL the time (that's not so fun.) He's curious, smart, funny, strange, silly, caring... and we can't wait to see how God will change and shape him into the man that he is called to be.
Until then, I'm going to enjoy our 2.5-year-old Jonas, who has to wear rainboots while watching Sesame Street in his pajamas.
