Last night, Jeff and I joined some lovely people from our care group, the Svelmoes and the Peets, to walk around Escondido's weekly Friday event, Cruisin' Grand. It was our first time going on purpose (we've accidentally stumbled upon it before, only to get frustrated at all the traffic it caused and be perplexed by everyone's fascination with old cars), and it was nice to be out and about with good friends, beer and bratwurst, old cars, and rock critters.
My soda and bratwurst. It was darn good. Almost as good as Top Dog in Berkeley.
Here's Jeff. I think he's laughing at me for taking a picture of my belly.
My favorite car. It had orange stripes!
And the most exciting--- there were two about-10-yr-old girls on the street selling these rock critters for 50 cents! They had glued googly eyes to rocks and were making money off of them. And when my friend Amanda asked what they were trying to raise money for, they replied, "Oh, just for ourselves, so we can spend it." Ha.
