The Ides of March, Three Days On...

Kathy's play is tomorrow. I'm excited for her and her kids. I got to see a sneak preview on Monday, and I have to say, for 11 and 12 year-olds, they put on a mean Shakespearean production.

In preparation for tomorrow's play, Kathy needed an empty bottle. We had no empty bottles, so I have, as a dutiful husband, taken it upon myself to empty a bottle of wine for her this evening.

The things we husbands do for our wives.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this before, but I have begun having "Daddy and Baby Culture Hour" with our still-gestating child. Last time, Baby and I listened to Chopin and had a long, stimulating conversation. Tonight we listened to Miles Davis, discussed jazz for a bit, and talked about the importance of discipline. Baby officially learned tonight that when s/he is born, s/he will be spanked by mommy and daddy when s/he disobeys.

It's good that s/he learn this sort of thing before birth. That way, his/her expectations won't be too high, and the shock won't be too great when s/he learns that this world is a fallen one.

I'll let you know how that goes once Baby is actually born.
