We're not so interesting.

I've been trying to think of what to write on our blog all week, but it's been hard to come up with anything interesting. Our lives here in Escondido are pretty mundane-- with me working and teaching and reading Roald Dahl and Shakespeare, and Jeff studying and going to school and taking care of his pregnant wife.

But occasionally, like during this past week, we have some of our friends over and it's great fun. Here are our friends:

Aren't they cute? We love the Peets! Not only do they eat Korean BBQ with us and listen to good music, they are also fellow "kids" in our small group (the average age of adults in our group is around 50) and have been so gracious and encouraging as we've been adjusting to life in Escondido.

So, while we're not so interesting, we're hoping that the Peets will rub off on us some and we'll be able to live it up in Escondido and have lots to post about in the days and months to come! You can see that it's already working on Jeff:

I can see from the looks that you really set your standards high for friends.
